Dr. Traub has been practicing anesthesiology and pain management since 1982, when he was exposed to the treatment of painful conditions during his residency at Westchester County Medical Center/New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., which at the time was one of only 5 certified pain centers in the United States. His training includes the ability to perform cervical and sacral epidural steroid injections and implantable nerve stimulators.

Dr. Traub started and became the Medical Director of the Pain Management Center at Oil City Area Health Center in Oil City, PA where he gained experience in implanting spinal cord stimulators. He was one of the first physicians in the country to be certified as a pain management physician in 1988 by the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Traub helped begin pain programs at North Broward Hospital in Deerfield Beach, FL and St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, where he was the director of the Comprehensive Pain Management Center, which was the first multidisciplinary pain center in Pinellas County.

Dr. Traub's interest in treating patients with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy makes him one of a few physicians in Pinellas County who actively manages these disease states. He is also interested in the treatment of Herpes Zoster infections (shingles), a problem that if actively treated in its early states, can help decrease this painful condition in a cost-effective manner.

Post-graduate training includes the attainment of a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Florida in 2002.
